CNG 211   Windows XP Configuration     

Prerequisites: Proficiency using the Windows interface environment. Have general knowledge of computer hardware components and of networking concepts.Provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address the implementation and desktop support needs of customers who are planning to deploy and support Microsoft Windows XP  Professional in a variety of network operating system environments. CNG 212   Windows Server Environment  

Provides students with the knowledge and skills that are required to manage accounts and resources, maintain server resources, monitor server performance, and safeguard data in a Microsoft Windows Server environment.

CNG 213    Implementing a MS Windows Network

 Provides students with the knowledge and skills to implement and manage a Microsoft Windows Server network infrastructure. Students will learn to implement routing; implement and manage Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), and Windows Internet Name Service (WINS); secure Internet Protocol (IP) traffic with Internet Protocol security (IPSec) and certificates; configure a network access infrastructure, manage and monitor network access.

CNG 214          Implementing & Administering Directory Services  

Prerequisite: CNG 213 or Approval of Instructor

Plan a MS Windows Server Network Infrastructure: 4 This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to install, configure, and administer Microsoft Windows Active Directory™ directory services. Focuses on implementing Group Policy and performing the Group Policy–related tasks that are required to centrally manage users and computers. Provides students with the prerequisite knowledge and skills required for course CNG 221, Designing a Windows 2000 Directory Service Infrastructure. Instructor: John Hutson

Note: The curriculum helps prepare a student to take the Microsoft Core Exam 70-217: Implementing and Administering a Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure.

CNG 216    Plan a MS Windows Server Active Directory Infrastructure 4

Prerequisite: CNG 214
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to design a Windows directory services infrastructure in an enterprise network. Presents strategies to assist the student in identifying the information technology needs of an organization and to design a Windows Active Directory structure that meets those needs. CNG 222  Designing a Secure Network 
Prerequisite:
CNG 102 or CNG 214 or Approval of Instructor.
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to design a security framework for small, medium, and enterprise networks by using Microsoft Windows technologies. Students learn to secure access to Local Network Users, Remote Users and Remote Offices, Partners, and to secure access between private and public networks. Instructor: John Hutson

CNG 221    Designing a Directory Services Infrastructure   

Prerequisite: NET 234 or Approval of Instructor
