IRA Required Distribution

Being forced to take required minimum distribution (RMD) from your IRA beginning when you reach 70 1/2 causes much confusion and resentment. For many IRA owners this forces removal of money from their IRA's seems unfair - and perhaps it is - yet what's more unfair is the 50% penalty tax the IRS levies against you if your required distribution is missed or taken incorrectly. To find out what you need to know to avoid the 50% penalty tax, attend this informative workshop where you will learn how to determine your own RMD what IRS tables to consult, when the distributions must begin and how to treat multiple IRAs and employer sponsored retirement accounts such as a 401(k) or 403(b). Ample time will be available to answer your questions or assist with determining your personal RMD.

 IRA Beneficiary

Is it ever appropriate to name your estate, a trust or perhaps a charity as a beneficiary of your IRA? What is the IRA Custodial document you receive when opening an IRA and what should you look for when reading it? Do you know what happens if you pass away and there is no beneficiary named on your IRA? Many people amass a tremendous amount of their personal wealth within the confines of an IRA but risk loosing well over half of it to the IRS upon their depth if improper steps are not followed when naming IRA beneficiaries. Your IRA and other retirement accounts are not passed after your death by your Will but rather are governed by the beneficiary designation form and rules established by the IRS. Join us in this in depth and extremely important workshop as we explain in simple to understand language the proper way to name an IRA beneficiary.

Demystifying Inherited IRAs

Unknown to many people are the mysteries and often confusing rules and regulations one must follow when inheriting an IRA. Failing to follow the deadlines and rules could result in a 50% penalty tax, or still worse, the immediate taxation and liquidation of the IRA, if the decedent was over or under 70 1/2 and whether or not Required Minimum Distribution had begun. In this workshop you will learn the rules governing inherited IRA's and the proper steps to follow when inheriting an IRA.
