Beginning
(Hand) Quilting |

Students will make a beginning level hand
sewn quilt in this class. Students will learn to make four basic quilt
blocks to include the Ohio Star, 9 Patch, Needle Turn Application and how to
work with curves. In addition, they will learn about borders and binding so
that they can complete their own quilt in class. The students will
have the opportunity to participant in a shopping trip to a local fabric
store to understand the fabrics and how to match fabrics for their project
before class begins. (materials will be approximately $25 value).

class. You will spend the first tow hours in the classroom learning your
camera, the settings, and where to find your camera features. There will be
one class with a short excursion to take pictures of flowers, buildings, and
scenic areas for better understanding of lighting, composition and their
affects on your overall quality of photographs. The final class period will
be to upload your picture onto your computer, cropping pictures, optimizing
and printing.

Rocky
Mountain Photo Shoot
Learn the basics of photography in a
combination classroom and outdoor setting. Led by a professional
photographer this class will teach you the basics of camera, film, aperture,
shutter speed, composition and lighting. Then participate in a field session
to shoot pictures with the guidance from tour instructor. This class will
include a field trip to Rocky Mountain State Park if weather permits. Return to the
classroom in the next week to share finished photographs and receive
feedback

Wedding Cake
Anyone? |
|
Take the next step, learn to make the
wedding cake of your dreams or that of a family member. In this workshop,
students will learn everything from borders & lace to learning how to frost,
decorate and cut the cake. Color schemes as well as silk/real flowers will
be discussed. The wedding entails so much more than the cake. Students will
also learn about making corsages, learn about wedding favors, serving table
arrangements and much more. Please bring pictures of the wedding cakes you
want to make as students will learn the techniques and application of making
a beautiful wedding cake.
